An external TPMS, or Tire Pressure Monitoring System, is a device that monitors tire pressure from the outside of the tire. External TPMS sensors are easier to install and can monitor tire pressure for a greater number of wheels, making them suitable for various applications, including larger vehicles.

The number of sensors required depends on your vehicle configuration. Typically, each wheel should have its sensor for accurate monitoring. However, configurations with dual wheels on one axle may share a single sensor, reducing the total number needed.

The system's sensors transmit real-time data to a monitoring unit inside the vehicle. This unit displays the tire pressure for each wheel, and any deviations from recommended pressure levels trigger warnings or alerts.
22-Wheel Compatible Solutions
Due to internal interference variations in each vehicle, there's no fixed standard, but typically, for vehicles with 6 wheels or more, we recommend customers install a REPEATER. Our REPEATER system can support a maximum of 22 wheels on a single vehicle.
